Latin America. Taking advantage of his experience representing European AV manufacturers for the Latin American market, Simon Talloen decided a few years ago to settle in Medellín, Colombia, and to open his company.
Footprint is dedicated to supporting manufacturers looking to open markets in Latin America, to become known in the region and establish relationships with distributors and integrators.
Simon Talloen told AVI LATIN AMERICA that Footprint will not compete with distributors or sell directly to the integrators, which seeks to represent the manufacturers to distributors in the region, helping to strengthen a closer relationship, providing commercial support and technical in their language and adding value to the brands.
The Footprint company model is what is known in the United States as a Manufacturer Representative Firm. It is a very unusual structure in Latin America and, therefore, Footprint fills the void for the different brands that are looking for a professional commercial and technical representation in this region.
Six months ago the company opened a show room and training center in Medellín, where you can find the technologies of the six brands that currently represents: wePresent, Televic Conference, Datapath, Vogel's Professional, Arthur Holm and Apart Audio.
Of these brands, some are new in Latin America and others that are already but have a considerable growth potential. About a new AV brand offering for the region, Simon Talloen said that the six manufacturers he currently represents stand out for high quality products, have a long history in Europe and Asia and will allow to boost the market with new options with support technical and competitive price.
Finally, the CEO of Footprint emphasized that he chose Medellín because Colombia lives an important moment in the development of the industry and since the City has easy connectivity to the entire region. He added that today they are already working with distributors in Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and plan to reach other countries.
